TYLER'S JOURNEY #12

@MrWorfMen's Mom hey Linda
I tested him @+3.5 and he was 145 I have no idea what happened. I'm pretty sure the insulin went in, who knows, I didn't feel anything wet on him. Oh well @MrWorfMen's Mom Then tested him @+8.25 it was 150. I figured the 0.5 on the line would show lower numbers than the 0.5 skinny. When it's a fur shot what exactly does that mean? @MrWorfMen's Mom

It's not unusual to see slightly higher numbers when BG the cycle or day before has dropped to lower than usual levels but yes it is unusual that it didn't happen yesterday. I wonder if he's just having a delayed reaction. There will always be those days when things just don't seem to go the way you expect.
A fur shot would of course do it too and all that means is that some portion of the insulin you intended to give didn't get into Tyler. Sometimes insulin leaks out after you give the shot so you don't always feel a wet spot immediately. It happens to all of us and there is nothing you can do but carry on with the next shot. Even if you do feel a wet spot never give another shot because you never know how much insulin got in and how much didn't.

OK understood, I will see what his PMPS is tonight and see if I should shoot 0.5 Skinny, 0.5 on the line or 0.5 fat. I will probably test him around 8 pm and then post it. He I'd already bugging me to eat, so I just show him the air freshner can and he takes off I will talk to you in about an hour @MrWorfMen's Mom

Yeah. Elmo, Beth and I have a long history from a few years back. Elmo has always been a kitty with lots of surprises up his sleeve and he's proving that even in his old age, he's still full of beans! He just didn't want to play nice with the little fishies and went shark hunting last night. I slept a good part of the day away today....just hope I can sleep tonight after all the napping. :woot:

Well I'm glad you got a really long sleep today, I'm sure you will be able to sleep tonight, you probably still need it. You are Tyler's savior and mine. I wish that one day we were able to meet in person. Sweet dreams and will talk in the am. I was trying to remember when we first started talking on here, I back tracked and it looks like it was April 2019. I thank god everyday you commented on one of my posts. @MrWorfMen's Mom

Even I am not sure about some of them. To me yellow would be beach, lagoon would be blue/dark green and shark hunting is definitely those scary lime greens. :D

@MrWorfMen's Mom hi Linda

I'm fine. I was still tired today after the PJ party 2 nights ago and today I had the kid who cuts my grass over. He has special needs and can be a bit tiring so I found myself taking yet another nap late this afternoon. Just woke up not long ago.

It's fun meeting up with other members. I'd like that too. It's too bad we are all spread out so far apart. :blackeye:

Just commenting on the higher than AMPS 165 in the middle of the cycle. Did he get into something he shouldn't have?
Nope but I see the same thing happened on 9-14-19 day cycle @+5 @MrWorfMen's Mom Now this is more like it tonight,
PMPS - 134
@+2 - 107
@+6- 124
Linda every time I test him he thinks he going to be fed, sorry Tyler is not going to happen lol
He would be eating non stop , that +6 was at 3 am tested him while he as sleeping in his bed and sure enough he follows me into the kitchen looking for something. I couldn't resist that face so I broke down and counted out 10 pieces of Dr Elseys dry @MrWorfMen's Mom

Good plan. They all think they are going to be fed every time you hit the kitchen. The trick is being able to resist those woeful eyes. I see you're no better at it than me!

@MrWorfMen's Mom morning Linda
MONDAY 9-23-19 tested him around 8:10 in the morning but I think I had left out some of the Dr Elsey's dry out so he might have eaten some before I tested, maybe that's why his pre shot is higher.
AMPS - 182 0.5 on the line or 0.5 Fat @MrWorfMen's Mom Going with 0.5 on the line

If you think he ate and BG might be reflecting some food, stay on the low side with the dose. Go with the 0.5u on the line.

I don't always know. I just prefer to take the conservative choice if there are any factors that might potentially influence the choice being made.

Had planned to be a vet early in high school but then thought better about it when I realized that it would involve putting animals down and dealing with stupid people who don't think of their pets as family. I would have been a basket case in no time I'm sure so I went into human medicine instead and worked in orthopaedics.:woot:

I would feel the same way, I could never put an animal down, no way, I would be crying every time a sick animal would be brought in. I wouldn't be able to take it

I wonder if he dropped a bit lower with the second hit of the Vetsulin around +7/8 in the cycle. Not that I think he went that much lower but who knows. Sometimes they just do odd things and all you can do is monitor for a trend.
