two types of freestyle lite strips- where to buy?

I'm having trouble finding the butterfly, quick wick, zip quick thingy, the other older strips have half moons on each side and I seem to have a harder time with cat, poking, and those strips than the others.

When I've ordered through amazon I've received inconsistent boxes (some new, some old- never expired though).

Does anyone know where to get the new strips exclusively?

Hi Mococo,

I have used a FreeStyle Lite meter that uses those half-moon strips. Never had any problem. Am wondering if you're having a problem because you may be using the wrong strips with a different FreeStyle meter... Is that possible?

Have you tried ordering from Hocks.com? There's a link on the upper left of the page here. FDMB gets a donation with each purchase. And, Hocks has pretty good deals. Sometimes even free shipping if you hit their minimum order amount, which you probably will ordering test strips...

Where are you located (no specifics necessary)? Perhaps one of us lives near you and can help you figure out your meter issues. I'm in Northern NJ if that helps...

PS: Apparently Hocks.com has discontinued their donations to the FDMB. Don't know why; but, you can still purchase test strips from them. They sometimes list expiration dates... Also, make sure you recap your test strips container firmly. The strip containers are made to keep the strips fresh and safe from the environment...

I always get strips from online merchants, but haven't used Amazon.com. I've been getting the new strips consistently for some time now. They do work a lot more easily than the ones with half-moons.

When I need to buy strips, I do a Google search for freestyle lite strips, skip the Amazon.com listings or any from Walgreens or other brick-and-mortar stores (or online stores with brick-and-mortar prices!), look at the others and pick what seems to be the best price of the moment. Hocks doesn't seem to come up on such a search, so I usually check it out separately. But I've had good luck buying that way.
