A bit of background...I have been in the process of getting everything in order to switch from Vetsulin to Prozinc. I am running around a bit caring for my parents and I don't want to start on Prozinc until things calm down a bit and I can monitor Timmy even closer than I do now. That being said he is still on Vetsulin, and we started with the sliding scale dosing (thank you, @JanetNJ) and I'm getting two days in a row of dark greens. Today we are lower than I like, and he is going lower later. Next test will be at +8. Since he is at 50 at this range and dose, I'm thinking the sliding scale needs an adjustment. I'm really surprised at his numbers though. Thanks in advance. :)

Thank you so much for my adjusted scale, Janet. I'm really pleased with the dark green numbers, just very unexpected.
It's what we want, but I agree the 50 is too close for comfort. I always aimed for 80-90 on my pet meter. Glad to see your kitty is doing so good. Does she seem to be feeling good?

When his numbers are lower for a good portion of the day, like yesterday and today, he is himself, hanging out with the family, being in the middle of everything, he acts like the old Timmy, before the FD. The steep ups and downs make him hide and feel lousy, which is why I wanted to change insulin. He bounces at the drop of a hat, but it seems over the last two days I have been able to overcompensate for it with his dosing. I'm not sure if that is what is actually happening, just my thoughts.

Actually let me tweak that a little more....

200-230 0.5-0.75
230-260 1
260-290 1.25
290-325 1.5
325-350 1.75
350-390 2
390-440 2.25
440+ 2.5

Very nice! I'm glad you have Janet to help with the sliding scale. I know very little about making one because Teasel would have been more chaotic than ever if I had done that.

I know what you mean. I had tried a sliding scale earlier on and he was all over the place. This has me scratching my head and wondering what he will do next. Maybe with how crazy things have been getting my parents settled he just doesn't want to be left out. ;)
