Yea, but all The Others get theirs. No way around that.
But I'll think on it.
My alpha male, Prince will NOT shut up. He can yowl for hours, possibly DAYS.
@Chris & China I can watch. Probably will shoot. Thank you!
RE What Chris said: Yes, as long as you can check him tonight later on, you're probably okay to shoot.
Incidentally, since you're feeding mini meals (am I right about that?), it would be helpful to know when you customarily do that in your 12-hour cycles.
Incidentally, I kind of have mixed feelings about the mini-meals approach, starting right out of the gate on ProZinc, when still trying to get a read on how kitties react to it in a 12-hr cycle. Here's why: Makes it hard to get an accurate baseline for how they process insulin when we do it that way. (It goes without saying, though, that if you're checking BG's during the cycle and your kitty's heading toward hypo-zone, you certainly MUST give some food to bring that # back within safe limits!) Until I got Bat-Bat pretty well-regulated, with a chart full of blues/greens and down to a smaller dose, I just split her daily ration into two feedings, timed right after her AMPS/ PMPS #s, then I'd shoot when she was finished eating. Since she's such a gorp, I'd pick up the dish halfway through - making her wait for a few minutes before putting it back down because she would eat SO FAST that sometimes it would come right back up again (ick!); I also added a little water to her food, which helped slow her down, too.
Please understand I'm only sharing what worked with Bat-Bat ... and I know every cat is different, and that others may disagree with my reasoning. I have to admit, too, that it tugged at my heartstrings when she'd behave like she was starving in-between meals! But as I knew darned well she really
wasn't (because she was getting the full amount of food every day divided into two feedings am/pm, I just held my ground and eventually she stopped acting up so much. (Kitties can be bratty, too.)
