Tucker is getting worse - Update below

He's at the vet now. Potassium is down from 4.1 a month ago to 3.5. He's losing weight again. Down from 15.8 three weeks ago to 14.3 pounds.

Will be increasing his potassium to 2 pills BID from 1.5 BID and increasing prednisolone from 2.5MG BID to 5MG BID.

I knew he was tired this morning, but didn't realize his potassium was starting to crash again. It had been steadily going up since March.

I'm sorry to hear this .. but at least you got him into the vet and this time you know what to watch for, right?

I'm sorry to hear this. Tucker's in great hands with you, it sounds like you caught it quickly and hopefully he will bounce back quickly. Sending healing vines for Tucker!
 
Tucker's potassium is back up to 4.0; no weight gain but it's only been a week. I could tell on Monday he started to feel more energetic.

Now that his potassium supplement is so much higher than before I will have to research the signs of too much potassium. I believe too much can lead to heart problems and there are signs to watch out for. That will be today's project.
