Trying to give her MEDS

I need some help.

Shadow was diagnosed with a UTI a few days ago. We got Antibiotics in a pill form She has 4 more doses of Antibiotics to consume. The first 3.5 doses we gave her were easy peasy. We snuck them in treats and she gobbled them up. Last night & tonight she will not touch the treats with the Antibiotics tucked inside! Don't know what to do. I tried canned seafood from Fancy Feast, Roast Beef, Tuna, Boiled Chicken. ALl of her Favorites. But she is picking out the pieces and eating the ones without the MEDS. I have been careful about placing them inside and tucking them in neatly. But no luck! Don't know what to do...
 
Get an oral syringe.
Remove the plunger.
Cut up the tablet into small pieces and put them in the syringe.
Put the plunger back in.
Suck in a small amount of water.
Shake well to dissolve.
Put cat on floor on towel.
Wrap towel around cat (aka "burrito wrap").
Kneel over and around cat to use your body for additional restraint.
With left hand gently tip head back and slightly pry open mouth.
With right hand, aim syringe to side back of mouth and squirt in amounts that can be swallowed
When done, release cat and step back.

You can try a bit of cheese. Some people report the Laughing Cow cheese works miracles for getting kitties to eat up their meds. There are also pill pockets that other people say work really well (I've never used them personally). They buy the dog version and break off pieces to wrap around the pills.

Shadow just got back from the VET. Originally Shadow was given Baytril to treat her UTI. I explained she is not taking the pill anymore. So they gladly prescribed me ORBAX oral Suspension. From my research online this MED is used to treat dogs with UTI & Cats with Skin infections (wounds and abscesses). Anyone ever use this ? Confused, should I call the VET back?
 
Did they test to see what type of bacteria was causing the UTI? Oxbax only works on certain types of bacteria, so unless they did test, no way to know if the Orbax will work or not.

Many UTI's are sterile, that is, they are not caused by bacteria and will clear on their own in about a week.

Not sure I will ask my VET Thanks for the advice
 
If you have a sterile "UTI" then you do not have an infection as in Urinary Tract Infection. One can have symptoms of a UTI and really have no infection. That is typically called idiopathic (cause not know) sterile (no infection) cystitis (inflammation of the bladder)
