Has anyone had any problems with this type of monitor? I have been using for over a year now thinking it was doing okay. But now I am really questioning it because I bought a ReliOn monitor yesterday and it is giving me BG's way higher than I have seen before.
I bought the ReliOn because the strips for the TrueTest were getting pricey since I was going through so many, and others on this forum seem to really like their ReliOn, plus it uses less blood which I knew would be a big help.
I had 2 strips left yesterday evening for the TrueTest, one errored out due to Frodo shaking the blood away and the second just would not whip up the blood. So instead of buying more strips I figured it was a good time to change monitors. Got everything set up and checked out on the ReliOn did a BG and about freaked. Frodo has been staying under 200 for the most part, but on this test he came in at 383. I gave him 1u and retested later in the night, BG = 238. This morning he came in at 313. I am not sure which unit is right now. If the ReliOn is right, then I feel really bad because his numbers have been running way higher than I thought.
I have bought a new battery for the TrueTest, I am picking up a new bottle of strips and control drops on the way home today. I will re-check everything on the ReliOn and then test myself with both units to see what kind of numbers I get. Also one other note I had tried using an Accu-Chek and had the same type of numbers on it that the ReliOn is giving me. So I am going to throw it in the testing mix also to see how the 3 compare.
Any input anyone has on these monitoring units is greatly apprecaited. confused_cat
