Trouble Finding Food

Hey all, I need some help. Marvin's gone off his current food and finding something new is impossible. I've been trying to decipher the list of foods and their values and I can't. I have severe numerical dyslexia, autism, and cognitive issues that make comprehending massive spreadsheets nearly impossible. I stood in three pet stores today in tears because I could not find anything on the list and I don't understand the numbers. Can someone just give me a list of the brands I'm allowed to feed him? I need things laid out for me like you'd explain something to a child.

Note: He can't have Fancy Feast, something in it makes him vomit every time I've tried it on him.

Thank you!

All flavours of Tiki Cat cans
Friskies classic Pate
Weruva Cats in the Kitchen cans (not all the pouches though)
Weruva original cans -all the seafood flavours and Paw Lickin Chicken
Weruva BFF cans

That is a start but unfortunately not all flavours of a particular brand will be low carb so I would have to list individually.

It's not just you, I have my own anxiety issues and shopping hasn't been a pleasure in a very long time.
This might not work for you but it won't destroy a computer if it doesn't work. In most if not all Microsoft Windows you can enlarge the screen by holding down the Ctrl button and pressing the + button. Pressing Ctrl and - will put the screen size smaller and back to normal.
What did look like this will then look like this.

I don’t know if this helps, but a general rule of thumb is that anything that is pate is most likely okay.

Sheba is also a good option in addition to the ones Chris already listed, which are great.

Chewy is an amazing resource. If you look up a specific wet cat food brand on their site, even though you won’t find the carb content under nutrition, if you look through the questions most have already a question listed about carb content with the answer provided. It really helped me narrow down the options. If that’s too overwhelming, you can also call Chewy and they’ll look all that up for you over the phone.

My last suggestion is if you have a small local mom&pap pet shop near you, other than the big ones like Petco or Petsmart, chances are you’ll find the staff is way more knowledgeable and helpful with good suggestions based on your cat’s needs. I have one such place near me called Urban Pet and the staff always took the time to walk me through all the different brands that fit my diabetic cat’s needs.

Hope this helps!

In addition to what eveyone else has already said, I'm just going to post the brands/flavours I have been using. All are under 5% and available at mud bay if you have one locally to you (I didn't even know this store existed before it was suggested to me by another member on here) & chewy. They are a bit on the pricier side since they're single source novel proteins, but should be much healthier than the mass produced grocery store brands and many are marketed to kitties that have stomach sensitivity like it sounds your Marvin may. Most of these brands also sell chicken, turkey and seafood flavors which should also be low carb so long as it's the pate version. Also, if you go to a place like mud bay the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable and are more than happy to help you find exactly what you need.

Here's what I use:

Feline Natural Lamb
Ziwi Peak Venison
Ziwi Peak Lamb
Koha Rabbit
Koha Duck
Kiwi Kitchen Venison
Kiwi Kitchen Lamb
Go! Solutions Duck Pate
Lotus Pork Pate
Instinct by Natures Variety Venison

I think the best solution is to feed your cats different foods. Just close them separately at mealtimes, and give the diabetic cat the food it needs. I only have 1 cat, so I haven't had a problem choosing food. Moreover, I recently bought a cat food dispenser. I learned about different models of dispenser here https://topcatbreeds.com/time-release-cat-food-dispenser/. Sometimes I come home from work very late, but now I don't have to worry about my cat being hungry.
