Diabetic Cats in Need (DCIN)

Many of you know TrixtersMommy (Bobbi). Trixter (diet controlled since 2006) has something wrong that has swollen the right side of his face. It might be an abscessed tooth, but Bobbi can't know until Trixter sees a vet. Bobbi is unemployed and can't afford the vet. She has asked for our help. Can we help Bobbi and Trixter? I also sent a little. But then, if a lot of us send a little, it will add up to a lot. Donation was very confusing. Hope the donation is going to Trixster. ----- Lana
 
Thank you all so much!! I am in tears. I am so scared for my baby boy. It really figures that this happens after I lose my job, etc. You guys all pulling for Trixter really means a lot to us! He just had his 14th birthday last month and I want more than anything for him to live many, many more years! He is such a kind hearted, empathic and intelligent boy. He has been through so much but he is such a trooper through it all and even when he is having a hard time, he still continues to try to comfort everyone around him. I will never ever forget how well he behaved for his ear pokes and insulin shots, throughout his megacolon problems, etc, and you all have been here for him and I along the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope to be able to post good news very soon!

You put any information, like what cat it's for, in the "notes" section of the PayPal "Send Money".

Hi everyone. The vet had a hard time getting a good look into Trixter's mouth because he was being a pain. He HATES going tot he vet because he's had some traumatical vet visits in the past. But, she did say it's dental related and prescribed antibiotics. She said she'd call in a week. She said he needs blood work before he can have a dental, which he really needs badly. He has several rotten teeth. The ones by the abscess are particularly bad. :(

Thank you all SO MUCH for your financial and emotional support for Trixter. Trixter saw the vet, who put him on ABx and recommended a dental. The ABx already are reducing the swelling in his face. DCIN will pay for Trixter's needed dental with your donations. DCIN still has about $150 to raise. THANK YOU.

But now Bobbi's 7YO Smeagol also has a mouth problem. Bobbi says that Smeagol is having trouble eating--picking at his food, avoiding chewing on one side, crying while eating, as if in pain. Smeagol isn't diabetic, but DCIN has been helping Bobbi with some of her non-diabetic costs. Bobbi is family here. So any donations DCIN gets for Trixter's care that are in excess of what is needed for Trixter will go to Smeagol. Thank you all so much! And thank you, Venita, for posting about Smeagol. When it rains, it pours!!! :( Seems summer time is when these things like to fester. Trixter's face is almost completely normal again. When I get the ok from Venita, I will schedule his blood work. Once I know if the funds will be available, I will schedule Smeagol's, too. You all have no idea how much this means to me. I am up to my neck in cats and they were all in even more desperate situations when I took them in. When stuff like this happens, I feel so guilty and overwhelmed. I try so hard to do my best for all of them, though, I really do. And outpourings of love and support like this lift my spirits and let me know that if your heart is in the right place and you just reach out a little, miracles can and will happen! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from my kitties. I think both boys will be feeling much better very soon!

Thank you, Venita, and everyone who has donated and/or prayed/sent positive vibes for my boys. I am so overwhelmed. Smeagol is hardly eating at all now. I was trying to force feed him glop (his canned food with water) and he is fighting me big time. As soon as it touches that tooth he flips out. I don't know what to do. :( The baby food, which he is eating only in tiny amounts, is making him constipated, too. I am trying to get water into him because he is getting dehydrated.

So far we have almost enough donations to cover Trixter, but Smeagol is only at $62. I wish this wasn't happening. My poor babies. If anyone else can help, we would appreciate it so much. I am at my wits end. I feel so terrible for my boys and for asking for help, but I have nowhere else to turn. All of my babies, all the ferals in my yard included, needed me when they had no one... now I feel like I am failing them and it is overwhelming and heart breaking.
 
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! For everyone who donated, sent their thoughts and prayers for my boys... I am so thankful! My boys will both be going in for blood work on Thursday and then Friday once we have the results we will schedule their dentals. I feel so very blessed.
