So......I ALREADY have an asthmatic cat at home and I JUST adopted Trinket....she came home on Sunday. Dave and I have been playing with her and I've seen her pant several times. I flipped when I saw this (naturally) because Merlin did the same thing when I got him. She is only 4 months old!!!! I told foster mom and she said Trinket never did this at her house and she was there for about 2 months. Foster mom says this may be from stress. I have my doubts but I am praying she's right. If I saw Merlin pant (he doesn't any more) I'd give him a puff of albuterol. She doesn't cough like Merlin does/did.
Part two....
Merlin is on Flovent 125 mcgs in the PM and 250 mcgs in the AM. He still coughs but only when he's in two positions - it happens every time he hangs over the side of his cat tree and almost every time he puts his head in the garbage pail in my bathroom - both of these actions put pressure right on his chest. When he is hanging over the side of the tree he could cough for 30 seconds. It's ridiculous. When I'm there I'll get up and move him sohe'll stop. What should I do? Should I increase his flovent to 250 twice a day?
PS - WHO COULD HAVE TWO ASTHMATIC CATS??????
