Trinket: broken leg update and new video

Hi, Traci ~

Just watched your video...Trinket and Merlin are so precious and beautiful! Oh, what an awful time you've gone through with the dracula cape experience, Traci. I'm so sorry. That should have been Halloween fun with your two kitties but resulted in the terrible accident for Trinket instead. That's something you could never have anticipated, Traci. Several years ago at Christmastime, we put reindeer antlers on one of our cats, Bob. Another of our cats started to attack him. We grabbed the two cats and got the antlers off Bob right away. Lesson learned...we'll never do that again.

Traci, it's so good to read that Trinket's healed well! And from watching your video (and listening, too...you have a lovely, soothing voice...I like your cat voice), I know that Trinket and Merlin love each other. "Things are getting better over time with them." -- That was such a big scare, a big shift from their normal and safe home for both of your dear kitties. It's going to take time for Merlin to get over all that happened Halloween night. As he spends more time with Trinket in a safe setting, he will start feeling as though things are going to be normal again. The way your two kitties love each other, Traci, makes me know that Merlin's going to be okay...maybe not right away, but over time. Hang in there. {{{Traci and Trinket and Merlin}}}

oh your video is cute! Those two are both so lovely and sleek. What beautiful kitties. I hope that things go back to normal soon for them.

Thanks ladies for the compliments! I love my guys so much. I want them to be best friends again so bad!

Eva - you are so incredibly nice! Thank you for your empathy. It was very, very upsetting. The night it happened I was waiting in the other room to give Merlin his asthma medicine when he went in the living room, so I didn't see them start to get upset...I just saw the aftermath when I ran in there. You are so lucky that when this happened with Bob that you were right there and able to take off the antlers right away. Trinket was only 5 months old when this happened on Halloween. I only had her for about two months...I had recently adopted her and they were getting along great. Then this happened because of that dumb costume. It cost a fortune to get her all better. Now I have pet insurance on both of them.

love the video! I know each day they are going to get closer and closer .. They are going to be best friends again, don't you worry!

Your cats are so pretty! Glad to hear a positive update.
Thank you for sharing the video & pictures.
By the way your chocolate looks just like my Baxter, head to tail. cat_pet_icon

What an awesome update Traci! I'm glad to hear and see your kitties are getting along now. They both look very content and mellow. :-D

Yikes, what a horror story from Halloween! When LB was little we had a summer storm. DH went outside to clear some drains and LB was watching from a window. DH had the umbrella up and he leapt out from the umbrella and went boo at LB. LB went ballistic. He jumped in the air and started screaming thru the house into the lounge room and up onto a chair and launched himself thru the front window somehow getting thru the nylon sheer curtains. He was a big boy even then so his weight caused the curtain to slip up to allow him to made his escape to the outside world. He disappeared into the neighbours place. It was the xmas holidays so no window repair places open. But I was worried as to wether he was harmed by the impact or the shards of glass. We took an hour to find him and though he must have had a headache he didn't appear to have any cuts or scratches. I went thru a glass door as a kid and ended up with 23 stitches so I was a little worried for kitty.

Later I heard that in Chinese culture they say that ghosts live under umbrella's so maybe kitty saw a ghost? Anyway it was the last time my DH jumped out from under an umbrella to surprise our kitty. The window cost $100+ to fix. I guess Trinket's leg op wasn't that cheap? Your two are lovely - I watched a couple of video's. Your accent is so strong - me an Australian so it sounds very strong to me. Anyway gorgeous kitties and good luck with the reintergration.

Hi "Anyname"-

What a story! OMG! Did you want to kill your H? :lol: The poor cat!!!

I think my accent sounds strong because I am saying words funny on purpose! Believe me, that's not how I normally speak. When I talk to the cats I sound nutso. I always say "How you doin'?" in a New York accent and some words with a Boston accent like "sista" instead of sister and "cyat" instead of cat. It's all silly.

I've been spending a lot of time at home this weekend because of the New Year holiday and Trinket's been allowed to be free the whole time. Things are going fine! I actually think I can give the crate back! They've been getting along really well. I think I feel comfortable with them together alone now. Yay!

Good that it's all going well and the crate can be returned. I really enjoyed watching the video's. So you don't speak funny after all? ohmygod_smile
