Lillian (Kara Adams) 's Sugar Sheet

Hi. This is Lillians spreadsheet. She is acro and IAA. We tried Lantus - she hated it so much we can not go back to the high dosage with the sting. I debated putting her down because she was miserable with it. Also her clinical signs were not good.

On Levemir that someone donated to us - her clinical signs are a lot better. It seemed to work for a few days in May when she first got it and now her body seems to just be rejecting it. We tried to be aggressive with dosing and see if she needed to fight off that IAA. Her numbers got even worse. But now we are trying to figure out if the expired refrigerated pens were bad and not doing anything or if she had too much insulin and it was toxic. So now I am using a not expired pen with a reduction in dose but her numbers are bad again.

Has anyone here used Tresiba? I am deparate. But I also cant watch her 24/7. And someone was saying you need to be around to test a lot with Tresiba. I was also thinking Trujeo but she had worse clinical signs with lantus and she hated her life with the sting. It ruined her whole day not just a few minutes. So it didnt seem like the best option. But I am looking for some history of spreadhseets on tresiba

Could you attach the spreadsheet to your signature? What size dose is she on? What do you mean by "her body is reject it"? New pens can be still bought until the end of the year through the Marks Marine pharmacy in Canada. Though I wouldn't wait until end of year if that is still an option.

With the spreadsheet we can tell more. Insulin isn't toxic, though can cause hypos.

We have a Tresiba forum here: Tresiba (degludec). It is not well visited. Though the top post on that forum is from someone with an acrokitty. You might want to try to reach out to that member.

Have you considered getting acromegaly treatment like cabergoline?

It's good to have the spreadsheet in the signature so we don't have to keep looking for it, as the signature is attached to each post you do. There are a few other things you can put in your signature that can help us out. See the details in this post: New? How You Can Help Us Help You!

The lev is not working out
What do you mean by "not working out"? All I see is that you aren't on a good dose. I also recommend you try to get a second test in the PM cycle after the shot. Many cats go lower at night. It's hard to tell if you are on too high a dose. Though I have seen acro/IAA combos on a much higher dose. Thankfully Neko was not one of them.

Have you only used the R the one time? Was anyone helping you with it? We do recommend some help from experienced folks when you start out. It's a commonly used tool with acros that need much higher doses.
