Treatment of a Head wound

It been awhile since I been here, but I need advice for treating a head wound on my outdoor kitty Jasper.
I live in an apartment complex and have sort of adopted 2 outdoor kitties. I've had them both fixed and I feed them. I do NOT have the fund for vet treatment for these kitties.Jasper showed up yesterday with a NASTY HEAD WOUND covering half of his head, both eyes and ears are intact. On close inspection it looks like it's an animal bite. I brought him in and cleaned the wound yesterday the best I could and he didn't fight me much which is unusual for him. I have amoxicillin 500 capsules that I diluted with 10ml of water and have been giving him 1ml 2x daily. I found the antibiotic mix ratio on another site, if this ratio isn't correct let me know ASAP. Today there was a slightly green mucusy discharge from the wound. I cleaned the wound again.

What should and shouldn't I be using to clean and treat his wound?
I'm going to keep him on antibiotics for the next 2wks.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with a situation such as this so I can't suggest an appropriate treatment course. That said, it might be worth investigating products like Vetericyn for wound cleansing. I have no idea whatsoever whether such products would be helpful or contraindicated for what you're dealing with in Jasper; you'd need to do your own research.

@Larry and Kitties - is there anything you can suggest?

Thank you for your responses. I used warm water, hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol to clean and put Neosporin on it and started antibiotics, but when I started researching proper treatment for cat wound there is so much contradictory information that why I came her to ask for help. I received excellent help here in the past when Lexie was diagnosed with diabetes.
 
Don't use hydrogen peroxide on a big wound.... It can damage healthy tissue and stings terribly. Washing with soap and water is better. Glad you tried the neosporin. Good luck
 
Maybe saline solution and a syringe to flush out and clean the wound. I also use the Vetrycin that Mogs mentioned.
 
This is Jasper this afternoon. The wound is looking better, but the poor baby seems week and in pain. He is letting me do what ever I need to, to treat him right now.

Ouch poor baby... I know you are giving antibiotics just look out for signs of infection. As it heals it may get itchy. Do you have a collar if he starts scratching?

I have a collar, but since he is an outdoor kitty I don't think it's a good idea to use. I have no way of confining him either.

Ah ok I didn't realize he was still outside. Maybe he can spend the night in a garage? I know how this goes. I had an outside stray cat that would often feed and he'd come by with various water wounds. He wouldn't let us touch him though.

I live in an apartment complex and don't have a garage. He lives on my patio for the most part. He isn't venturing off the patio much right now, but I can't risk putting a collar on him and something else happening because he decided to take off for a while.
