Treat Suggestions?

Okay guys, I've been meaning to ask this for a while but kept forgetting. What treats can you suggest for us to give Victor? I've seen people mention chicken, but Victor doesn't care for chicken, so what else would you suggest? Thanks :)
 
I've been giving Orijen freeze-dried dog treats (beef and regional red). However, I'm looking for other freeze-dried meat treats with zero carbs because of the lawsuits against the US-made Orijen dog and cat foods (logically, the treats are also contaminated with heavy metals/BPA).
 
There are a multitude of other freeze dried protein sources other than chicken....turkey, beef, venison, shrimp, tuna, etc. etc. etc.
 
Cleo likes Grizzly Super Treats. They're crunchy, grain-free salmon treats. It's a small company and I think those treats are probably only available in the US.
 
I just sent an email to SmallBatch reference their freeze-dried beef hearts and freeze-dried chicken hearts asking about carb content and what the animals are fed.

Has anyone ever fed these?
 
Figured I'd post this here instead of making a new thread. We decided to go with the Pure Bites since they're available at the Petsmart we usually go to, and I'm assuming it doesn't matter what flavor you get? My mom picked up the Tuna flavor and the Chicken with Catnip, and I just want to be sure those are okay :)
 
Gypsy is digging the FF Purely Naturals treats, but holy cow, they're high ($). I tried baking her a chicken breast today and while she ate it, she wasn't gaga over it. But I got a whiff of the FF treat tonight, and I swear to God, they smell just like the canned chicken you can get in the canned meat isle with the tuna, deviled ham, etc. So I'm going to see if she likes that. It's got a bit of additives to it, but I'm sure the FF does too to keep it fresh in that pouch.

Update: Gypsy likes the canned chicken. It's a little messier than the Fancy Feast treats because it's not in as hard of chunks, but it's still manageable and I'm sure way cheaper plus easier to find.

Leah - how big was the bag of dog Pure Bites treats (I am assuming they were the chicken ones)? Thanks!
 
I think my cats are the only cats ever to hate purebites. One of my cats wouldn't even try it after she smelled it. The diabetic cat ate it a couple times but then wouldn't eat them anymore. I think it was because of the texture.

Phoebe will not eat any of the purebites either.
 
I made the mistake of giving Bama a couple bites of leftover chicken as a preshot treat. He almost wouldn’t eat his regular food right after. Kept looking around—“where’s the rest of that chicken, Mom.?”

That's great! My other cat always snags a treat or two when I'm testing Cameron :)
 
I can vouch for the FF Purely Natural treats. Rocky goes absolutely rabid for them.

Other options are just a sprinkle of some low carb "soft food" you can find in the refriderated section of grocery/pet stores. Or just a pinch of some deli meat, which I do often
