Hi Everyone. I haven't posted in awhile. Tootoo has been in remission on the diabetes since September. A couple of days ago he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He's on meds and sees the cardiologist on Monday. So far his glucose level has remained low. However, he is now not wanting to eat, so I've been tempting him with food that is a little higher in carbs. Hopefully I won't have to do this long and his blood sugar will not be affected.
My main reason for posting today is that I was looking for a good cat vitamin supplement. My husband had congestive heart failure a few years ago, and with the help of diet and supplements recovered completely. I'm thinking a good supplement would be a good idea with a cat too. But everyone I've looked at contains a lot of sugars. Is there one recommended for diabetic cats?
Hopefully he'll pull through this like he did the diabetes. Prognosis is normally not great, but I'm hoping that with the right diagnosis, we can keep him around awhile. I'll find out more on Monday.
I appreciate the help this message board has always given me!
