Tooth issue?

Here we go again, Pepper is not eating and smacking her jaw. I think she has a bad tooth again, and I can't afford to take her. Is there something else I can do? I just spent $800 in ER vet visits for constipation 2 months ago. I am the only one in my household working, and my family lives out of state, and don't have the money to help this time.
 
Vet doesnt see a bad tooth. Vet says she has a heart murmur and there's small amount of fluid around her heart and her lungs aren't looking good either. They are sending us home with pain meds to keep hercomfortable and if it doesn't work then "maybeit's time to let her go". My heart is breaking right now.

They didn't give a diuretic to flush the fluids?
 
I've had several cats diagnosed with heart murmurs when they aren't feeling well. Sometimes when i take them back later, the vet hears no murmur. I don't worry much when I hear murmur anymore. I'm not sure about the fluid comment. I don't have experience there.

As far as the tooth possibility, my mom has a cat that did the same thing. She eventually had some of his teeth pulled, but she was able to delay for quite awhile with Convenia shots. Maybe worth exploring?

Take a deep breath and don't panic. I was told 2 months ago that it was time to consider letting Grandpa go when I took him in for help with his vomiting mid cycle and losing weight. Instead I followed suggestions from this board and added in small snacks. Vomiting all but gone.

Sometimes we will have to say goodbye, but don't panic yet.
 
Sorry to hear Pepper isn't feeling well. Did the vet say anything about what "didn't look good" about her lungs?

I know it's more money, and can understand it's hard to want to spend extra if there's no guarantee it will help, but did they offer to analyze the fluid or perform an ultrasound?

You could try baby food (Gerber stage 2 meats, not other ingredients) to get her to eat a bit more if you haven't already.

I know some vets give up pretty quickly but nothing you've described sounds like she's terribly sick which is too bad, 14 is no way near too old, and we know that diabetes and CKD can be managed, the murmur can or can not be something serious they would have to have an electrocardiogram and/or an echocardiogram to really check his heart and determine if is something to worry about it and if it is only an small murmur (and given the fact that those are expensive studies ) maybe just follow up for a while unless it gets worse.

Having small amount of fluid around her lungs and heart may be something else some infection going on and the vet needs to give her some diuretics to help with that, vet may say is not very good to give a cat with CKD diuretics but the fluids are worse and even with CKD you can give diuretics for a small period of time and monitoring her.

The smacking of the jaw could also be some vitamin deficiency, stomach acid or dehydration

Nope, just appetite stimulant and pain meds. But I've already given her the appetite stimulant this morning and she ate but noe she's hungry again and she won't eat because she has a tooth sticking out and it clearly hurts.
