Hi, I have been under the weather and just didn't get around to post. First please look at Tommy's SS. I have just updated. Second, I went looking online for syringes and thought I found a good price and the shipping was free. (I Googled U40 syringes) So I waited for them to get here, as I was almost out. They came yesterday, yea! They were U100, oh,no!In my many searching results I must have thought I was still on a U40 page. Back to the drawing board. So last night I needed a fresh syringe, and I dosed Tommy with the conversion info. OMGosh, it was so hard to get the equivalent of .5 of ProZinc! Tiny, tiny lines. He was 378 AMPS but I tried again. Now at +5.5 he is at 108. I will check again later. Should I give him a snack since he is probably at nadir? Thanks for any help.

Hi
I don't think it can hurt to give a LC snack if you're worried about the BG dropping lower. I give Bubbles a couple of tsp of FF every time I test her. If anything, I think it helped to regulate her BGs. Good luck!

Are the U100s 1/2 units? If not, yes, they would be hard to see. With 1/2 unit U100s, it is much easier to shoot smaller doses - under .5 units.

I like your decision to reduce to .5 You were getting some low preshot numbers. Your nadir today looks good - we like to see a 50% drop at nadir and his was a little more than that. He may be bouncing a little bit to get back in those pinks for pre shot but that should flatten out.

As Arlene says, a snack any time is fine. If you are worried about him being a little low, then a tablespoon of low carb is good. If that doesn't bring him up, then a tiny bit of higher carb (It's good to have a few cans of higher carb around the house. Just be sure to mark them so you don't feed them by mistake.) Here is a list of lower carb snacks:
