Will you look at Tommy's numbers? Any new suggestions? My crazy work schedule makes things rough. :YMSIGH: I'm home tomorrow. Thanks.

Sandy

I think he is looking okay. Some of the cycles are encouraging and approaching regulation. Not sure whether today was a bounce or if the dose this am was too low. The 197 was a blue preshot but was close enough to 200 that you probably could have shot a one unit. (i know that would be a lot easier if you could be around to monitor.)

If you'll be around tomorrow maybe be a little more agressive?

Thanks, Sue. I too was encouraged for a few days. I have found that Tommy seems to bounce at a range of numbers, and since I wouldn't be home all day to test at nadir I was a bit timid in shooting the 1.0 dose. He has done pretty well with coming down from a bounce/higher number now so I'm hoping that with being off tomorrow I can be a bit more aggressive and do more testing. Would you suggest upping the sliding scale by .25U and see what happens? (I have the 1/2 unit U100 and use the conversion chart. I still have some U40 syringes and only use them for a one unit dose until they are gone.) It was interesting to hear that you think it might have been due to not enough insulin. Hmmmm...

I know it is sometimes difficult to get more testing done with work schedules and such, but some mid-cycle numbers would really help us see how the doses are working for Tommy.

I was lucky because I am home all day BUT, in the beginning of RumpelT's sugar dance, I was testing every two hours ... I love data!!  I would run errands and make my appointments to coincide with the 2 hour intervals.....it was crazy. Not something I would advise anyone to do as much as I did, unless it was definitely needed and/or a curve was being done. However, if schedules do allow for a test or two mid-cycle that gives us more info to help give advice on dosing.

Since you will be able to monitor today, maybe try a 1.25 or a FAT 1.0 and see how that works out.

Will be watching. :-D
