Tommy and food

I have spent the last 4-5 hours researching here on the forum. I'm considering feeding three times a day, adding one feeding in the mid-cycle area. Since DH doesn't test and I'm sometimes gone 10-12 hours when I work, these boys of mine get pretty darn hungry when I work late. Tommy gets about 1 1/3 cans of food a day. Sometimes more when one of his brothers gets full and walks away from his dish. They eat Friskies and 9-Lives 5.5oz cans. What advise can you give me, pros and cons, whether to start this. Tommy isn't regulated yet, but still on data collection. Sue, you have been so good in advising me in all areas. My DH is going crazy with the boys demanding to be fed NOW and I'm not home (or up) yet. I don't want to shoot w/o testing, but if he feeds after nadir wouldn't that affect his numbers?

Tommys +3 was 270

Well, the idea is that you spread the food out and it supports the pancreas and keeps the numbers fairly stable (no big food spikes after a big meal).

Maybe you could feed at +4 and +9 in addition to after each shot. That would leave you more than 2 hours before the preshot test and 2 hours before the nadir. If you want, there is a great auto feeder called the PetSafe5 that would let you set to open several times daily, whenever you wanted and to open to an empty slot 2 hours before a test (in case they leave food for awhile)

Give it a try and if it doesn't work, it doesn't? And if it does
