Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! I am noticing a little bit of a trend. On my last thread I explained that the vet wanted me to up him to 2 units and I only raised it to 1.5 units instead as I did not feel comfortable raising and thankfully I received some great feedback from a lot of people stating that even 1.5 was a bit high. He is still on the 1.5 and I am not noticing his numbers going low at all, but instead rising. I believe he was doing better on just 1 unit than he is on the 1.5 units. I have been spot testing him today and tomorrow I am going for a full curve and hopefully paint a better picture for us to grasp at what is going on. He is still on DM and Iam's kitten food been off dry since December. We are careful that Tommy does not get near or eat any of Leo's food (drooly).

Any clues as to what might be happening?

your spot checks over the next couple of days should help fill in the blanks. For what it's worth, I don't think the numbers are worse, they are about the same, but seeing what is going on during the cycle is key. The 144 he had on the first cycle of 1.5 shows that he CAN get down on this dose, you just don't know how often it is happening.

Thanks Libby for looking at the numbers! Its difficult for me to do during the week, but I am resolved to doing it frequently during the weekend during the evenings. I almost ran out of testing strips and finally got 100 yesterday at Walmart so I feel like I can do the spot checks more regularly (especially during week nights when I am home).
