Tuna is still in remission woo! But tonight I noticed he was licking his foot a bit so I took a look. It looks like the sheath that holds his claw is all swollen and the skin above his toe bean that connects the bean to the sheath is swollen too. I even noticed some pus. I ran a shallow bath and made him stand in there a bit to clean it and I'm going to take him to the vet asap. Has anyone seen anything like this? Also do I have to worry about any antibiotics knocking him out of remission? His BG was 88 last I checked this morning.

I would definitely take him to the vet and get it treated. Just make sure that the antibiotics that the vet gives you does not have any sugar in it….ask the vet to check.
The antibiotics, as long as they have no sugar in them will be fine….much better to get any infection treated asap.
I would also make sure Tuna is eating well and I would test a couple of times for ketones in the urine while he has the infection.

Will do! Thank you so much!

One somewhat common problem is when the cat catches the claw on something like when jumping ad ters part of the claw out.

I'm getting married this Saturday, do you think I can leave him for 24 hours like this if I get him to the vet Thursday? It's the only opening any vet had

There not much else you can do if you can’t get into a vet. Just make sure he’s eating well and test for ketones.
All the best for your wedding on Saturday!:bighug:
