He is 13. Pretty darn good for an FD/Hyper-T with cardiomyopathy that was not *supposed* to live beyond his 8th birthday. When he was dx with the cardio problem he was 3 and life expectancy was 2-5 years. I think I finally exhaled on Aug 9th, 2006. Every day is a gift with him - and with every cat. You just never know.

Here he is last week, on vacation in MI (which is where I was and why I wasn't posting).

Beautiful picture! And it is a testament to eagle-eyed care that a cat with all those problems could be coaxed into remission!

Thanks everyone! He is my handsome boy. He was a feral and when I caught him the vet I took him to said he was a "very handsome mutt" when I asked if he was a pure bred of some type.

No one was more surprised than I was when he went OTJ - just ask Vicky and Pamela. It is probably more a testament to his will than mine though. I mean, I do have another FD with none of those other health problems that I can't get off insulin, so...
