to shoot or not to shoot, that is the question

My little cat seems determined to get off the juice so we are now into dose reductions as she keeps dropping too low for comfort, she still needs some insulin but we are now heading down quickly and may end up with some micro dosing. I can go as far down as 0.25 units with my current syringes but wondering if I should order some u100s just in case. Not party planning just yet though...

Look at cappuccino go!!!!!! I think that someone wants otj really bad indeed!
Great job on both of you :D:D

So it continues, she overshot her ideal weight so I reduced her calories and she earned another dose reduction! Getting close but not quite there yet, she is now down to 0.5 units at a time. She had her third trial injection last week.

Hey, may I ask (i'm curious what the underlying thoughts are) to shoot at 2.9mmol and 3.3mmol..
I've always 'learned' not to shoot below that, but I'm curious to know what your thoughts are about that because I know you are doing a really other routine with Cappuccino (with succes :D).
Aren't you scared for hypo?

I am not shooting 'on' those numbers, the protocol says to shoot on the +1 number if the number is high enough to shoot, and the pre shot number is too low. What she does is rise after food then start to drop with a late nadir, sometimes at the pre shot time. What we are trying to do is keep her in good numbers most of the day. It is pretty scary because I have had low pre shot numbers but once she hits the lows and is doing so consistently then the dose is reduced. I do have a no shot number.

Ok that makes sense! Thanks for explaining that to me :) I missed some info I guess, I was on holiday, sorry!

No - I just have been deliberately vague because this is an approach under strict vet supervision and not to be tried by others as it is specific to her.
