To give or not to give insulin

My Callie Mae, who has been off insulin since July has recently come down with an UTI.
I have been having some concerns regarding her BG's and insulin. So as not to have to type out my whole situation again, here is the link I posted last night.
After sleeping on it, I thought a better question might be, what is the damage I can cause if I DON'T give her insulin until after her antibiotics are gone?

I read your thread over in health and agree with Carl, I would drop the dose to .5u if her bg's are high enough to shoot.

Even with the UTI her bg's are high enough to shoot when in the 200's so you want to support her P with insulin.

Hopefully when the infection clears she will drop back into those nice green numbers on her own.
