Hi everyone,

Tribby's BGT and insulin shots with caninsulin have been going well at 6:00 and 18:00 daily as I usually work 7:00/7:30 to 17:00/17:30 and I am close to home.
A few days a month I work 13.5 hrs or longer so can do the am test and shot but not reliably the pm shot.

How flexible can the timing be? I know 12 hours apart is preferred but is it ok to be 1-2 hours late occasionally?
Or to shift the timing of the shots by 1/2 hr a few days before?

I showed my husband how to give the insulin but he is not keen at all.

Thanks,
Cass and Tribby
Ps. This is our second week so we are new to this! Her BGL have been 6-10 the past few days. Yay!

SInce the duration of Caninsulin/Vetsulin is only 8-10 hours you have more freedom is schedule than the longer lasting insulins. If you home test that you can reduce the dose if necessary if the next cycle is going to be short. Years ago I was on an 16/8 hour schedule on the weekends. I used both N and Lantus (different cats).
