Tiko has taken a turn for the worse. His hematocrit is 15, bicarb level still too low, phos not rising like it needs to. Veins in both front legs are blown from the IVs. What little interest he had in food is gone and he is fighting syringe feeding and handling.

His demeanor is becoming very depressed.

I had such hope this morning... he looked so much better. He was bright eyed, wagged his tail... and I heard his Fletcher purr... it was so strong.

But it looks like he's had enough. His vet wants to give him tonight... she cried when she called me.

10 days... that may be all I get...

So sad for Carolynn and her girls. I still hope and I pray for strength for Tiko.

I am so sorry but he seems to be a fighter! I had the speech from the vet's two times with Payne (she can't fight anymore, maybe it's time) but she is a fighter also and it is possible to come back from the edge. We are sending healing vibes tonight .... I feel so blessed about Payne, please God, pass it on.

We have a quick update on Tiko: Carolynn tells us they are treating for hemolytic anemia, Tiko seems a bit happier without as much poking today. Will take more blood this afternoon and she will visit him after work. Will update when we hear more. Thank you all for your continued prayers and healing thoughts.

I am going to send him more distant Reiki from work. I'll be using a stuffed animal on my lap so I hope no one catches me!!

I am so happy to hear this! Payne and I concentrated hard last night sending healing vibes his way and I got a very peaceful feeling after ..... he is a fighter! go Tiko!

I was awake half the night praying for Tiko and sending healing thoughts.

I'm so glad he is still fighting. I don't think I can bear losing another rescue on the
heels of these recent ones.

Tiko, you are loved from afar by many. Don't give up.
 
I've been sending healing and strengthening prayers as well, I hope he continues to improve. So glad to see he's happier today.

I heard from Carolynn a short time ago, Tiko is eating and purring. I've uploaded the picture to DCIN on Facebook but will upload it to my photobucket and put it here in a minute.

Honestly, I cannot thank you all enough for all the love and prayers being sent to this little orinch boy. He must be feeling it.

When we saw him today, his eyes lit up. He immediately did a sniff to make sure it was us, then proceeded to headbutt and rub against us as much as he could. I'm sure he's wondering when he can come home... I whispered to him "soon... you keep fighting and you'll come home soon."

There are so very many people praying and wishing for Tiko, Carolynn. May he get well and come home and be furever with you and your girls.
 
Whew !! Maybe Tiko has turned the corner for good.

Keep praying everyone...it's helping a lot.

Dry food ? Oh well, ANYTHING is good food right now.
 
I've been quietly following Tiko's story...this news and that picture are the best every! We'll continue to send prayers your way...keep fighting, Tiko!

Carolynn, wondering if Tiko is still up for adoption :lol: Been on this with Jenn and Venita and praying so darn much for Tiko. What fantastic news to read but have to wonder.......why the dry.....why not soft canned A/D? His mouth couldn't have healed all up yet and A/D is great for sick kitties. Very happy to see the HCT is coming back up too.
 
Such good news!!! More prayers on the way that he continues to eat and gets better every day! Dry food after pulling 11 teeth? ouch! :shock: Whatever works at this point :-D

Come on Tiko, nom. nom. nom...noms are good and make mommies so happy.

Come on pretty boy, keep fighting and we will keep praying for you, and very soon they will let you come home, where your new mommy can pamper you until you can't stand it anymore.

Nom, nom, nom....dry food kibbies... to a diabetic cat....is like candy to a kid....nom...nom...nom...

If the kibble is small enough cats don't usually chew their food....
