Tigress has been OTJ for 8 days...Need advice please!

Tigress has been maintaining number under 90 for 8 days now. She's only on wet food. She has no increase in water intake, I monitor this very closely! But I noticed yesterday there was more urine than normal in the cat litter box. I make sure to clean it twice a day (Three times on weekends when I'm home all day) this morning same thing, seemed to be more urine than normal. Should I be concerned?! I do add extra water to her food, since being switched to wet from dry she doesn't seem to be as thirsty as she used to be and I want to make sure she is getting plenty of water. But should I be worried about her urine output?!
 
Normal is what you want!!! Be Happy! Maxwell has been OTJ for awhile now and his litter box looks exactly like my 11 civies litter boxes.

Sounds good

Could you maybe put together a spreadsheet for your kitty? It will help you track the numbers you are getting, as well as making notes on related issues - ate well/poorly, threw up, etc - to provide context for understanding the numbers.

Its also a great document to print out and hand your vet (under the "So there, it is possible to hometest and manage feline diabetes!")
 
I actually do have a spreadsheet. =]

I also have an app on my phone that syncs with an online account.

So then I'm worried for nothing. Haha

I'm so paranoid ever since her DX that little changes freak me out now.

But so far so good in terms of everything else. She has a healthy appetite. She's playful, she's even got the blood test routine down. I think the best feeling I get is from seeing her run up and down the stairs for fun. She hasn't done that in awhile!
 
OK ... can you put a link to the spreadsheet in your signature, so we can see it?
 
A short 6 more days of those kind of numbers and you can officially call for an OTJ Party!!! party_cat OTJ is defined as no insulin for 14 days, with numbers in the normal range and most of those in the double digits. If I'm reading her spreadsheet correctly it looks like you are a little over halfway there. :thumbup

Cats eating just canned food need very little extra water as they get virtually all they need from the food. Since you've been adding water to her wet food it sounds like Tigress is just peeing a bit more to make up for the extra water intake. Congrats for being OTJ!
 
Water's great for the body, and what matters are the numbers. If the numbers remain in a non-diabetic range, then you are doing fine...... 8 days down, 6 days to go and you can then say officially OTJ.
