Tight Regulation?

On FDMB, Tight Regulation is a protocol followed by people using Lantus (or it's biosimilars) and Levemir. More information and research papers describing it are in the Dosing Sticky Note at the top of that forum.

I used the Tight Regulation protocol for my kitty and liked it. Do you have specific questions about it?

Ohhh, ok, I use Prozinc. So I guess it's not for me? I just read about it for the first time last night and saw that people got their cats into remission using it. Wasn't really sure what it was.

The issue with Tight Regulation (TR) is somewhat confusing. The protocol was developed by Jacqui Rand, DVM and her colleagues at University of Queensland and published in 2009. It was specific to Lantus and Levemir and it is a very successful approach for getting newly diagnosed cats into remission. That part is straightforward.

There was a vet who ostensibly used TR with PZI/Prozinc. However, the pharmacology of Prozinc is not even close to either Lantus or Levemir. Frankly, it didn't make sense to try to adapt TR to Prozinc despite what some groups on the web will suggest.
