Just confirming that one can't do TR if using Vetsulin insulin. We really like the concept of TR but it became pretty complicated. I joined this message board and somewhere I learned that Vetsulin can't be used with TR. I'm wondering if we just needed more support through the process. when we were attempting it.

TR was developed for use with Lantus (and now the biosimilars/generic version) and Levemir. There is no TR for any of the other types of insulin. TR is based in a long-acting, depot type of insulin which allows overlap between the cycles. Vetsulin is short acting and there is no overlap. The pharmacology of the two insulins is quite different.

Correct, I know you mentioned wanting to do TR on the other thread, but no TR with Vetsulin. If you’re able to switch to Lantus, then you can switch to TR too as long as you’re not feeding any dry food, which I believe you aren’t right?

That completely makes sense! I have my answer. Thank you. Your signature quote is wonderful....I needed that today.
