How was Tiggy diagnosed? What type of food are you feeding? Have a look at the link I gave you. There is so much information here so take it in a little at a time. I had information overload when I first joined.
 
We believe in three thing to help with feline diabetes. First is feeding low carb food, ideally wet food. If you tell us what you are feeding now, and what country you are in, we may have suggestions about food. Second thing to help is home testing blood sugars. Once you get the knack of that, you can monitor your kitty based on what type of treatment you start and make sure they are safe. Speaking of treatment, if your vet suggestions insulin, the two best insulins for cats are Prozinc or Lantus. Recently they are some newer medications that people can give daily instead of insulin - but not all cats can take them safely. Does Tiggy have any other medical concerns?
