Tiger is still not eating, all he is getting is what I can feed with syringe. When I put food in front of him he gags and throws up a little foam. He doesn't throw up the food I am getting in through assisted feeding. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help, or has anyone experienced this.

Have you talked to the vet about possibly having a feeding tube inserted? A feeding tube makes it easy to give an inappetent cat the nutrition he/she needs without having to force feed via syringe. Here is some info about feeding tubes: http://www.catinfo.org/?link=feedingtubes Ask the vet about anti nausea medicine, too.

Thank you, I am talking to the vet tomorrow and will ask about the anti nausea drugs. Hopefully a feeding tube will not be necessary.

All of my cats over the years that had fatty liver started out by no interest in food and just the smell of food, canned or dry, would make them gag. Please have the vet check Tiger out and if a tube is needed, please do it. Just the E tube, no stomach peg tube either. Is Tiger showing any signs of yellowing on the inside skin of his ears, or gums?

No yellowing. The vet told me Friday, that Tiger still looked pink. He sent SubQ fluids home so I could try to get him hydrated. He was severely dehydrated when I first took him to the vet. He doesn't throw up the food I am assisting feeding him, he just gags when I put food in front of him. He is still peeing. He is very alert, but sleeps alot.

Update on Tiger. He was eating on his own this morning. I think his appetite is back. He is eating a little at a time. Vet checked him out today and couldn't believe the progress from Friday. He said he was more hydrated, but to keep giving the SubQ for a few more days, because he is still not drinking. He said he is doing good and thinks we are getting there. :thumbup

That's good  You can add water to the canned food to help get some water into Tiger.
