What a weekend! The only good thing is that the worst was on a weekend when I could be home otherwise I guess I would have had to take off work. It seems the worst is over but even last night I was sure I was going to have to have a feeding tube put in. It was not easy to get her to eat but I guess she started feeling good enough over night last night & actually took a couple bites of food this morning. I have been syringe feeding her and I will have to continue until she gets back to eating normally. She did come over to the bowl tonight when I fed everyone else but again just took a couple of bites. Her BG is running high due to the sugar content in this liquid diet & I've been adding Nutri Cal also, the first ingredient in that is corn syrup! It was a matter of getting enough calories in her so I just had to do it. I was exhausted today so I ended up leaving work a couple of hours early & got a much needed nap in, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I still have the appt with the new vet for Thurs so I'm probably gonna take all this info with me & still go over. I think she needs a dental but we will see what she says. I have had to fight my vet just about every step of the way. I don't know if I already said this but I even printed out info from the IDEXX site & took it in but she still kept saying it was ok if she didn't eat for 3 or 4 days and would not give me an appetite stimulant till yesterday when I took her in for fluids. I went to Pet Smart & got that Cat Sure & started syringe feeding her Sat anyway. It really seems as if they treat cats in the same manner as dogs at my vet & that doesn't work. I do know if I hadn't found this site Thumper would have been in the ER & I would have a larger bill than I already do....or worse. Gosh, how many times have I said that? Thanks for the support & if I've repeated myself over the last few days sorry but I'm running on empty.
