What a weekend! The only good thing is that the worst was on a weekend when I could be home otherwise I guess I would have had to take off work. It seems the worst is over but even last night I was sure I was going to have to have a feeding tube put in. It was not easy to get her to eat but I guess she started feeling good enough over night last night & actually took a couple bites of food this morning. I have been syringe feeding her and I will have to continue until she gets back to eating normally. She did come over to the bowl tonight when I fed everyone else but again just took a couple of bites. Her BG is running high due to the sugar content in this liquid diet & I've been adding Nutri Cal also, the first ingredient in that is corn syrup! It was a matter of getting enough calories in her so I just had to do it. I was exhausted today so I ended up leaving work a couple of hours early & got a much needed nap in, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I still have the appt with the new vet for Thurs so I'm probably gonna take all this info with me & still go over. I think she needs a dental but we will see what she says. I have had to fight my vet just about every step of the way. I don't know if I already said this but I even printed out info from the IDEXX site & took it in but she still kept saying it was ok if she didn't eat for 3 or 4 days and would not give me an appetite stimulant till yesterday when I took her in for fluids. I went to Pet Smart & got that Cat Sure & started syringe feeding her Sat anyway. It really seems as if they treat cats in the same manner as dogs at my vet & that doesn't work. I do know if I hadn't found this site Thumper would have been in the ER & I would have a larger bill than I already do....or worse. Gosh, how many times have I said that? Thanks for the support & if I've repeated myself over the last few days sorry but I'm running on empty.

I am glad to see an update. You are doing a great job. She will continue to improve....hang in there!

Sending Healing Vibes your way!

I sure hope so! I've been sleeping on the couch with her. This morning I woke up & she was gone, scared me to death. She was under my bed laying by the heat vent, the heat had already started cranking up from overnight & she goes there every morning so I knew that was a good sign. So, she left Mom on the couch alone!

I am so glad she is starting to eat and feel better
I hope you get some rest soon!
take care of yourself too!

I hope the worst is over and things will continue to improve. And that the new vet will be more understanding and helpful.
You are indeed an angel Barbara, for taking such good care of Thumper. Good on ya both, and remember to take care of you too.

She seemed a little better yesterday than today but she has been up moving around. She came to eat breakfast & dinner today although she mostly just licked the FF. I got some food for critical care cats at the vet, Science diet A/D & she ate a couple teaspoons of that. I have been having to carry her to the LB & today I came home to find someone peed on the floor beside Callie's favorite bed, then after Thumper ate a little she got in Callie's bed & proceeded to pee. :o I don't know what's up with that but I put Callie's bed away for the time being....besides it's wet now cause I tried to clean it. I wish my appt with the new vet was tomorrow. I don't know if she needs fluids but I don't want to go back there since I'm seeing the new vet on Thurs. I guess I will just see what the morning brings. I'm off till Monday after tomorrow, it's been an awful week so I can't wait.

Well, this morning she was waiting to eat & finished almost a 1/2 can FF which to her is normal. She went off to sleep in her favorite place under my bed so that's good cause she can actually walk a little now. Sooo...hopefully today will be good!

So glad Thumper's feeling better and eating on her own! Now if Thumper could talk to Klinger that would be great! Thanks for your post yesterday. It helps to know I'm not alone with this p-titis nightmare. Sending continued healing vines to Thumper.
