Sheesh, what a long afternoon! It's quite a drive over there so I hope I don't have to go often. The vet visit went well. I think she will be easier to work with & I don't think she will do any "Let's shoot her with some Lasic to see if that will help"! Thumper's pancreatitis is still showing in bloodwork but is better. She's looking/doing MUCH better. She's back to eating & moving around the house more. We are now on Lantus as of PM shot tonight. Boy 1 unit of Lantus sure does look different in that syringe. I felt like I was shooting nothing! She also sent us home with fluids & I had to practice doing it myself at the vet. Ugh...it wasn't as hard as I imagined but I think it will be awful the first time I do it here. She's only gonna get it a couple of times a week for now. I'm pooped once again...this has been a long week. I have still not purchased the first Christmas present. :YMSIGH:

Well that is tremendous Thumper seems to be feeling better! And that the vet was nice. I know the drive sucks but we feel it’s worth it for our vet, I’m sure you will too.
Good luck with Lantus. It will be very interesting to see how she does on it.
Take care of you Barbara. And don’t worry about xmas. You can always give green, it’s always the right size and color ;)

Great that you like the new vet and that Thumper is starting to feel better!
the one bit of advice I will give you with Lantus (Shakes was on it for a few months before PZI)
Keep a steady dose...for example, you started with one unit, stay with one unit for at about a week to see how
she will settle into it(unless of course she goes too low)
I know with PZI we can play with the dose but Lantus should be consistent.
ALSO...please keep coming to PZI, it wouldnt be PZI with out you 2!!
Good Luck!!!

I'm really glad the vet visit went well and Thumper is feeling better. Once you build a relationship with the new vet you may not have to run over there every time you need something.

Get some rest, take care of yourself.

So glad Thumper is feeling better and that you like your new vet. Good luck with the insulin switch.
Sending continued healing vines to Thumper. cat_pet_icon

Glad the vet visit went well. It sounds like the worst of the Ptitis is behind you. Giving the fluids is not bad, you will get used to it.

Good Luck with Lantus! Hopefully is will be a great insulin for Thumper.

Take Care of yourself. If it makes you feel any better......I bought my first Christmas present today!

Hi Barbara!

Question - are you going to just continue using the same SS with Lantus? I want to know which one (if more than one) to lurk over!
Hope things improve quickly for Thumper with the switch, and I'll be keeping an eye out for your threads.

Carl

Yes, I'm going to keep the same SS, mostly cause I don't remember how I created the first one!
