Used the sliding scale this morning, maybe I should have stuck with 1.6? Hard to believe .1 would make that much of a difference.

Re: Thumper 9/27

Barbara,
I'm thinking it will probably take a few cycles until you see what the sliding scale is doing. That's about a 1/3 drop, not too bad. Once you see how these small adjustments work, it may be that the whole scale gets shifted up or down accordingly. I believe what we're looking to see is a consistent curve, with changing doses. If and when we see that, then we can figure out how to adjust all of the doses up or down, to try and push the whole curve down. At least that's how things went with Bob....

Re: Thumper 9/27

I'm just hoping it helps! She has been such a mystery, numbers all over the place since DX. What's most frustrating though was when she has been doing well, at one time I was about to consider her regulated then all of a sudden for no apparent reason she shoots back up.

I have everything crossed that the sliding scale works for you
Keep us posted!

PMPS - 231
shot 1.4

Well, that PMPS is better than what I expected!

And it was nice to have it written down so I didn't have to make any decisions over the phone since I wasn't home at shot time!

Oh wow! Guess your insulin is still good at least. Nothing like a late nite curve ball. Thankfully you know the ropes! Hope you get some sleep. :)

Nice green Miss Thumpy, but don't scare your mom like that ... iz tu much greenie!!!!

wow, nice drop! maybe too nice, but don't panic and feed too much. just a spoonful at a time and retest.
I'll be online for a while as well.

Awesome Barbara!

don't fear the greens! respect them for sure, but the food will boost a little. FWIW, given that old 20% thing, those two numbers are basically the same. The +4 at +20% is a 57 or so. Trust your eyes to catch wonky behavior. Thumper will let you know if it's too low better than your meter will.

She's been acting good tonight, actually the last couple of nights she has wanted to go lay on the patio. She used to beg to go out everynight but stopped awhile back so I know she's feeling good when she wants to go out.

....sending liver-calming Prozanc vibes to thumper....

So should I still use the sliding scale tomorrow morning, taking into consideration she might bounce?

Awesome that you asked that question.
My thinking is "no", because the number would be "bounce" related. You'd be chasing the bounce. But I have no idea what you should shoot instead. Good thing we have a few hours to ponder this....

Carl

If she's really high from a bounce you can't really stick with the sliding scale. Don't shoot the bounce. If she's really high go with the last dose you shot.

Maybe post in the morning, I'll log on an and try to sync with your shot time.

She's settling down to take a nap....guess I'll be falling asleep at my desk again tomorrow!

You mean like back over 300 high?

I don't know...where have you been?

Oh good grief....Petunia is jumping & climbing up the back of the couch!

Looks like Thumper is surfing. But it's a really nice place to be surfing at least.

Carl

Robin, what time is it now at your place? It's midnight here....isn't it 11:00 pm there? If so 6:30 eastern would be 5:30 at your house?

Gosh, Barbara. What an exciting evening you and Thumper have had. Robin, maybe we need you to set up a sliding scale for all the kitties. (Just kidding, but I am impressed on how fast and well it worked for Thumper!)

Unless Robin is living on some uncharted isle off the east coast, I think you might be right, Barbara

Kim,
Catch Robin before she goes to bed..... I'll bet she could come up with a sliding TID scale too!

I think I'm going to go to bed. I have some food out but I think she's fine. I'm pretty sure she wants me to leave her alone so she can go to sleep. You know like how they bug you all night when you're in the hospital.

Thanks everyone!

Good nite Barbara (and Thumper)
I think she's fine too.

Carl

Interesting though...just updated her SS and her nadir was @ +4, she did eat a bit but I usually always have food out anyway. I will be anxious to see what AMPS is!

I HATE going to bed early, I always miss all the fun!
sounds like you and miss thumper had a good night
cant wait to see what toay brings
everything is still crossed for you both!

You know truly, I shoot a little of a sliding scale but Kitty is such a gulper I don't record the different doses. I say that I am shooting 3.5..but, I use U40 syringes and everything except whole units is an eyeball. But, depending on Kitty's bg...I pull up to the 3.8 range--plunger hitting the bottom of 4-- or lower to 3.2--plunger above 3.0....but, there is nothing percise in Kitty's dosing.....she LOVES insulin! But, it really is a sliding scale....with the only rules...nothing lower than 3.0 and nothing higher than 3.8. Anything less than 3.0 is like water and anything abore 3.8 makes Kitty bounce.

Go Thumper!
