She's rising so now I've gotta go figure out what I'm supposed to shoot! nailbite_smile

From last night's post it looks like I'm going with a .6 unless anyone weighs in before I shoot. Going to feed them so Petey will quit pestering me!

I'm not much help-- but, I won't leave you-- if you need someone to bounce your ideas off.

PMPS - 279

I guess I should go back to .7? Seems like .8 was too much on a similar preshot? I had to delay to +15 last night. But then Sunday night .7 kept her in yellow. Is that because she hadn't had insulin for 24 hrs before that shot?

Either one will work-- just shoot something!

I guess they are at the evening reception for the convention by now. Hopefully when they come back they will have some answers!

Have any of you ever used Miralax before? My boy civvie is constipated and I think the others have issues also. It seems like the poops are real skinny & small. I haven't caught any of the others in the litter box though. I'm surprised, I thought they sometimes had that problem before because of the dry food. I didn't think it would happen with wet food, especially since I add so much water!

I will post over there but I wonder if I should give it to Thumper? They don't really know her history lately & I think I mentioned this before & someone said it pulls a lot of water from them & I don't want to do that to her, but what would I use? Thumper has had trouble before & I would to give Laxatone.

I wouldn't give it to Thumper. I would not want anything else in the mix for the vets to consider.

I haven't started the Dasoquin with Kitty for the same reason.

That's what I was thinking but I wonder how much trouble she's gonna have if she is constipated? Ugh...

I have seen a lot of people use pumpkin for poo issues (both constipation and runny ones)

As far as dose goes - you are talking really small changes - and sometimes they just do their own thing no matter what dose you give them. Just go with what your gut says and be around to test and catch any shenanigans! (at least that is the mantra I have made myself go by this last year  )

I was just looking at her SS. Sat. night was when she got the greens. She had the pepcid injection & the one for nauseau. I'm wondering if that means anything? Like she was feeling better so BG went down? Am I just grasping at straws & being totally nuts? PMPS on Sat night & tonight were similar I shot .8 Sat night & .7 tonight. But, she was down in the blues by +3 Sat night.

Maybe, but who knows?

Kitty was up 60 points at +4 this morning on a low preshot for her.

You are doing good-- just keep her safe!

Barbara, everything you have said in interpreting her numbers and the doses and what it all means looks spot on to me.
:RAHCAT :-D

Yes the timing of the shot can make a big difference. I was thinking the same thing on the 0.7 Sunday night. Probably not enough b/c it's a +24 shot, but might be the right dose on a +12 shot.

What you said too about her BG being better the night after she got the shots is a great observation. Pain and/or discomfort definitely seem to affect their BGs - I know when Bix wasn't feeling well (he had IBD, so had intermittent nausea problems) he tended to need a good 50% more insulin for a couple days until he was feeling better. If the shots helped her that could be exactly what made a difference in her BGs.

You've now got a few back to back shots going, so that may give the doses a little more oomph than the +24 or so shots. Maybe not, but maybe. The +3 looks to me like the dose is probably a little low. She did quite well though on the 0.4 better than I would have expected. I would lean towards trying a skinny 0.8 if she is still in the yellows tomorrow morning. If she is in blues, I would probably stick with 0.7.
