Nothing new here except I'm loosing my mind. I had upped her dose yesterday AM then forgot I had done that so I went back to .8 I just realized it when I updated her SS. She's hanging in the mid 200's now I'm not sure if I should go back up to 1 unit or stick with .8 for a few more days. Haven't checked ketones today & this is the second day of 10 on antibiotic.

Breathe, Barbara, breathe. .8 is very close to one unit - no problem. I think I would go ahead and try the one unit next dose. Just be sure to watch her numbers because you have an infection and antibiotics in the picture.

I agree, I'd go back to the 1 unit but get mid cycle tests because her bg's can come down once the AB's start clearing up the infection.

Hi Barbara,
I'm so sorry you've gotten thrown into the deep end of the pool this way.
I will say...altho' you are hanging in the yellows...Many many many many cats (including mine) hung in far worse for far longer.
That may not make you feel better I know.
Were it not for those nagging trace ketones....I would'nt consider you at all in dangerous waters.
But now...those darn ketones!
Keep up to date with them...they can go away. And not JUST from lower bg's but the fluids too.
So please don't lose your mind ok.
Things will get better...and no point worrying over what may never even happen right?

I'm hoping the ketone issue clears up with the antibiotic. I have got so much going on I don't know if I'm coming or going. I'm just trying to get through one day at a time so it's no wonder I forgot what I was dosing. I'm writing it all down & putting it on the SS but yesterday was especially wild. I think I might need the Feliway!

I would go to 1u. Hopefully the A/Bs and a little more insulin will have her on track soon.
