Hello,
Since I last posted Peaches had a cold. She recovered with an antibiotic shot very well. But recently (4-5 days) she throws up any solid foods and drinks barely any water -> not urinating or defecating at all. One night I did not give her any food as to see if she would still throw up regardless of food intake. She did not throw up.
I have been giving her her “treat” for meals instead, the Hartz delectables lickable bisque. We tried to give her the other cats dry food, she vomit. We gave her boiled white meat chicken, she vomit. This non-solid food is the only thing she can keep down.
I’m taking her to the vet today for a blood panel. Can anyone recommend any liquid food for cats that is not expensive that can give her what she needs / is diabetic friendly? She has been moved down to 1 unit twice a day rather than 2 units twice a day (a win for us).
Thank you.

Sorry to hear about Peaches, I hope your vet can help figure out what's going on with her.
Does she show interest in eating her "usual" wet food, but then throws it up because it's solid? If so, you could throw it in the blender with a bit of added warm water to make your own liquid food.
If she is recovering from a cold, her sense of smell may still be affected, so serving food warm could be more enticing too.

She has no real “usual” wet food, this is the only type of wet food she has ever wanted to eat (for years). The others she just licks the gravy and ignores any of the meat. I’ll look into blending the other cats chunky wet food for her to see if she’ll eat that.

Also have you been given any antinausea medication from the vet?
Cerenia is good for vomiting and ondansetron is good for nausea. I would ask for both as they can be given together as they work on different pathways. Cerenia is daily and ondansetron can be given 8 hourly

I got an appetite supplement so she wants to eat (every 3 days), and then an anti-nausea (half a tablet once a day)
