Hi everyone, Jonas has been slowly getting back on track and I was so happy to finally not have an AMPS in the reds this morning, well unfortunately he just threw up breakfast about an hour after breakfast and receiving 2.75U. My mom said she saw him eat something off the ground which I’m assuming was the trigger :( I’m home sick today so I can watch him better but I’m still really anxious that he will have a hypo because of this. Are there any precautions I need to be taking? I’m feeling really sick so I need to try and rest some too but I’m scared.

Hi Whitney sorry you are sick today, hope you start to feel better soon.
I'm not a Prozinc user but looking at your spreadsheet the doses you are giving have been all over the place.
I would make a new thread and ask members to look at his spreadsheet.
It looks like you are dosing going by his pre shots
In your signature it says wet foods could you be specific and say what wet food you are feeding.
You should also try and stay away from dry kibble

You might want the new thread to read
? Need Advice on Dosing please look at Spreadsheet
Feel better :cat:

Thank you both <3 for his dosing I’m actually just slowly working him back up to where he was so hopefully it’s not as all over the place as it might look, I was just so scared after his hypo and his newfound insulin sensitivity plus he didn’t eat well for a couple of days. So I stuck to lots of chicken doses that I’m slowly increasing to be sure he’s safe especially since I’m at work during the week. He’s been great this week so I’ve been slowly inching him up by .25U. My hope was to get him back up to 3 tomorrow for a curve when I’m home and see how he does :)

Great you will be doing a curve tomorrow.
What wet food are you feeding is it Fancy Feast Classic Pate or Friskies

This used to happen with Minnie a lot because of the IBD. My backup if she wouldn’t eat her regular food after vomiting was and is still baby food. The meaty kind without onions or spices like Gerber. It’s in my emergency tool kit for her along with tuna
Oh no! Poor Minnie :( one of Joe’s civie siblings has IBD, I can’t imagine dealing with it as a sweet sugar kitty.

Unfortunately Joe has thrown up a few more times, the most recent one just some foam so I’m hoping maybe we’ve reached the end of this event? He was 412 at +3 and just now 292 at +5.5 which is a pretty normal drop for him at this time but since he’s thrown up, I’ll keep testing him and keeping an eye on him in case we need to go to the vet. He really acts quite well despite the puking? I think whatever he got ahold of in the floor must’ve just riled his tummy up, but I get so worried whenever he pukes :(

Oh gosh happy correction, my mom was mistaken, he only threw up one other time since this morning (the phlegm, a small amount). So he’s successfully kept down the HC dry treats, his baked chicken breast, and a couple ocean whitefish purebites from his BS check treat. So hopefully we are going to be good <3
