Because you don't have info on how you made it to your current dose, it is a bit complicated to give advice. I keep freaking when I see 8 units and I've no idea whether that dose is justified or not.
The curve you did on the 13th shows lots of room for improvement if we forget about the dose for a minute. THe lack of spot checks (likely due to you being a student lol) make it tough to know if the curve was indicative of the way most days go for him.
Any consideration for starting a new insulin? I think that if you've reached 8 units of any one insulin and are getting the kind of numbers that you are, a person should be switching. I'd strongly suggest it.....
