I used to have the Drinkwell Platinum fountain, my cats loved it! It was their second one but the motor went out and instead of buying a new motor I decided to buy a new fountain for two reasons. One being it was plastic, two it was a PAIN to clean. So I searched and I found the Drinkwell 360 stainless steel. Reviews seemed good, and easy to clean. My cats have no interest in it  Every so often they'll drink out of it, but for the most part they go to the plain old stainless steel bowl I put out when their old fountain broke. I know they still want the movement because before drinking out of the plain bowl they'll move it so the water is moving LOL.

What is everyone using? Pros? Cons?

I have a CatiT, water flows over the a dome, a Drinkwell Platinum and a Drinkwell 360. Al of mine use them. They have no choice either.

My cats loved the old lotus ceramic Drinkwell fountains. Problem was they made one part extremely cheaply out of plastic and it broke on the first one and my husband took it out on two more when he was cleaning it because he was certain it was supposed to disconnect there (and being made of cheap plastic, it gladly did for him). They discontinued the fountain after I bought my last one on clearance. Every ceramic I've tried since then they haven't really liked. My cats won't drink out of stainless steel anything. The last one I tried is the brown plastic Drinkwell 2 tier and they are all using that one but the motors are junk and start making noise right away. I am cleaning and switching out constantly, which stinks since we use bottled water and they take about a gallon.

I use Pyrex glass baking dishes to put out water for the main floors. They don't tip. And they have a wide are for the head to access the water so the whiskers aren't scrunched when bending down to drink.

And yes, they like to play in it.

I have a Drinkwell Big Dog and mine love it. Yes, it is a pain to clean, but I have found that if I fill it with vinegar water and let it soak for a couple hours, that helps to remove any hard water build up.
