Last July I started the above thread. And with the help of this board saw my beautiful boy recover from an almost fatal hypoglycemic crash.
Last night Thomas left us at about 7pm. We had gone on a 6 day trip to Ecuador and when we returned he had lost an alarming amount of weight. BG was fine but he stopped eatting. I syringe fed him, gave him fluids hoping for the best but every other day or so he would vomit. Alot. This went on for around a month. So yesterday I took him to the U of M. I had to know if there was any hope. He had a severe blockage in his intestine which was malignant. The vet said he had a fair prognosis of surviving surgery but only a 4-6 month prognosis of living after that. I wanted to do it but for selfish reasons. So for Thomas we said goodbye. He was looking into my eyes as he passed.
My point. Because of this board I had 4 precious months with my sweet boy. I am and will be always grateful. The picture below is Thomas 3 days after a HUGE hypoglycemic crash which is detailed in the above link.
Thank you.
