From the Nestle Purina PetCare Company that I contacted about 2 weeks ago, I received the new, updated (revised on 08/1/11 per their printout) carb and nutrient content on the FF Classic Pate in the mail today. They are as follows:

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Did they, by any chance, give the "as-fed" values? That's what is needed to calculate % of calories from carbs. The calculation is quick once the as-feds are given.

Interesting that Turkey and Giblets has no turkey in it, or was that a typo?

It's also interesting that the Chicken Feast has fish in it.

Are you sure these are the "as fed" values? "As fed" are usually not in min/max amounts -- it's the "guaranteed analysis" that are expressed in min/max form.

Very interesting, Angela. The list of ingredients for the Turkey & Giblets is totally different from the list of ingredients on the can (and also on their website).
I wish Rusty didn't like it so much. The "new" ingredients do not sound very healthy!.

Thanks for posting this. I'm sure that the "as fed" carb content is much higher than what they sent you!

I don't understand all of the numbers yet...so I take it the "Carbohydrates %: 1.10%" in the Chopped Grill is not the same carb % as listed on Janet & Binky's list?

In order to know if the carbs are correct, you would have to have the as-fed values and plug them in Janet's calculator.

I just typed what was sent to me in the mail. The Key Information at the bottom says this:

(1) NA = Not Available At Printing (2) Adult Cat = 1 Year or Older (3) Calories based on Metabolizable Energy (4) *Values are typical as produced (5) min and max values are Guaranteed Values

Also, the printout with the Turkey & Giblet Feast information listed on it was revised 10/07/11, so it was just recent. I'll call them and find out if it's as-fed, or not.

There is no as-fed on the printouts at all. They're based in PA, and I just tried calling, but will try again later. When I did call, I didn't think about that. My apologies. I was thinking of the carb content in each flavor when I called, nothing else. I guess I messed up.

It's not a criticism!! The manufacturers are secretive, for who knows what reason, with the "as fed" values. There are only a couple of companies that make this information freely available. When you ask, usually they get in a flurry and will tell you it's this huge production to get the numbers from their nutrition staff. You would think this is information that they can readily produce. If they give you a hard time, you can always drop the bomb that Wellness provides this information right on their website.

Does Evo provide this information, too? (I didn't think to look for that one, either). Nope, they (Evo) don't seem to have that information on there, either, unless I'm missing it somewhere.

I don't know if it's the same, but look at EVO's nutrient analysis. I'm going to guess it's the same as the "as fed" but you'd have to contact the company to be sure.
