Hi,

Just a general question if there's anything recommended that could help my little man gain a little weight. I know diabetes not being controlled is a huge factor but I worry. We've done a lot wrong for him.

Vet doesn't even like him being at 3.5U, doesn't think he has acro but we are waiting on bloodwork to see if there's infection or anything else going on. They stored extra blood of his to test for acro so I don't have to take him again. Poor fella peed himself in my car. He's scared of his own shadow. He acts like normal although clinically his numbers are horrendous.

I'm going to tag Bron for you to look at your SS since he had DKA in June per your signature
I'm wondering if you should increase the dose yet
I'm no expert but looking at your SS you were lowering the dose when it wasn't warranted
or giving different doses in the AM and then the PM
Let's see what the experts have to say

I was following vet's instructions because she felt it was somogyi effect. I think that was a huge set back for me as he lost weight during this time. I was advised to her to dose lower when I got a low reading under 25 but I don't think that works for him.

Like today for example at 8:49 I got a reading of 12.5 so I feed him and his reading jumps to 26.2 ( I gave normal dose of 3.5 units)
 
You can feed him as much as you want until his weight is where you want it to be. Just feed lc unless the bg is getting too low.
