I have copied this over from the main section - keep not realizing I'm posting there and probably more useful here - for me at least.
Re: Shooting Robbie late and what to do about it-
Thanks Carl - did you get the short stick when the PZI experts were pulling to see who got to deal with Ellen and Robbie? LOL You've been very helpful and reliable.
Robbie was 347 45 minutes early for his shot (when measuring against the shot last night) - I was up with a frightened dog from 4-5am and over slept by a few minutes again this morning - the dog doesn't like the sound of the sprinkler system since we switched over from well water to town water, something I hadn't anticipated and she was freaking out so I sat with her while Robbie had his 4am snack (and I got to see a nice yellow 229 - had been hoping for maybe a patch of blue). So at 347 with only 45 minutes to a legit 12 hours between shots I did the 4.00 again. We'll be out for a bit today but I should be able to get a +2 and a +5 to see how he's doing - right now he's going to town on a cat nip carrot so he's obviously feeling pretty feisty.

Eating Catnip Carrots are a Good Sign! The Whole Cat report sounds Good! Wishing you and Robbie a Great Weekend!

Haha, Ellen, we don't actually draw straws..... what we do is, we do a BG test lottery. Whenever a "newbie" shows up, whoever sees it first sending the rest of us a PM with a subject line of "Soooo, what's your BG right now?" Then we all have to poke our fingers and send in the numbers. Low person gets the newbie!"
In your case, I hadn't just eaten my normal 3 twinkie breakfast yet, so I was the low guy.

As for the numbers, not too bad, and good that you caught the rise a bit early. 45 minutes is no big deal as far as early. I'll check in for updates at work this afternoon. Hope you see nice numbers!

Carl

PS - at some point, "we" will all feel that you're comfortable with advising and know the dance steps.... so in a few weeks, if you get any PM messages asking "Sooooo, what's your BG right now?", you have to test before grabbing for a twinkie!

Carl I have had a twinkie in about 20 years or more! As a type 2 diabetic myself I should be testing more often but diet and pills keep me running under 110 pretty regularly - but if I had a few twinkies I think I'd shoot the moon!
After pestering me to death for more food half the morning Robbie is finally sleeping soundly in the sun. At amps +8 I really don't want to test him as that will wake him up and I promise hungry or not he'll want food. He's always been like that. So his last number at +6 was 241 after too much breakfast and than a very watered down quarter of a can at +7. I'm heading back out but he just rolled over and is giving me the catscan that says "you're up, you have thumbs and there is food in the kitchen - lets get it together mom" So I'm sneaking out...
