Bobbie And Bubba

Since +5 today until now the PMPS Bubba has hung out at 301 ish. The difference in his highest number and lowest number today is about the same as his wonderful blue range he experienced yesterday. From what I have been reading on the forum a bounce like that will cause the liver to release glucose and glycogen and the insulin only takes care of the glucose and the glycogen has to just get through his system. So, I am thinking that he might need to settle down from that big bounce and I'm dosing the same and see what tomorrow brings. Hope I'm on the right track.

Yeah, Bobbie, I'd say you should probably stay the course for now ...
We used to do that bouncy-bounce thing, too. Sue was soooo good at guiding me through all that. Being directionally dyslexic, it was so hard to wrap my head around those bouncing #s. (And yes, I get lost a lot out there in the real world, too! Left? Right? North? South? Oh, brother!!!)

Thanks Robin, glad to know that I am not the only one. I am a complete math-a-phobe so for me to actually subtract the lower number from the higher number was an achievement for me! I am starting to think that Bubba is going to be a bouncer unless I give a dose a while to settle in. Those blues yesterday were awesome and then BAM! this morning. But, like Sue says, it's the sugar dance....

Glycogen is the storage form of glucose.
Glycogenolysis is the process of breaking it down (lysis=breaking apart)
Gluconeogenesis is the process of creating glucose (gluco=glucose, neo=new, genesis=create]
If glycogen out of the liver, its getting broken down.

Thanks BJM, you are a great biology teacher!

Actually, that was mainly from a medical terminology class. Most of the medical jargon has those composite parts which can be identified, then used to construct meaning.
Like anything ending with -itis has inflammation:
Pancreatitis
Colitis
Arthritis
Gastritis
Otitis
And so on
