I found this board in 2005 when my sweetheart was first diagnosed with feline diabetes and pancreatitis. I received a lot of support and information from the friendly people here and it really helped me through such a difficult time.
The University of Illinois vet school saved her life and I gave her twice daily shots of insulin for about a year until the vet school said her numbers were so good I could take her off the insulin. I was so happy for her. She beat it.
Capri passed this past Wednesday. I'm devastated. She went blind on me about a year ago due to high blood pressure they think, but her diabetes never returned. As sad as I am now I just want to think everybody who helped me get the nearly five years of her company and love by helping me understand feline diabetes. I am so very grateful.
R.I.P. sweet Capri. I miss you so much.
