I am now a firm believer of testing! The first week or so after Tiggers diagnosis, we rarely tested because at the time we had a vet who said we only really need to do it once a week. Wrong! Even though most of the time he tests on the high side, there have been a few times just recently where his number has been low enough to not need insulin. This morning was one of them. I fought him and fought him to get his ear pricked. He was having nothing of it this morning! I finally gave up after a couple of tries and thought "well he was 400 last night so he's probably still high this morning". Boy was I glad I decided to give it a third try! He was 136! I did it again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and it was 137. No insulin this morning! It truly is Russian roulette if you don't test. I dread to think how low he would be if I had given him his shot. Now he'll probably shoot up to 400 in a few hours
