Hello I hope this question is OK here I am working on getting a meter to start home testing Aragon and was wondering what the best one to get is also I have heard to get blood from the ear and from the paw what are the pros and cons of each method thank you all for your time

A lot of us use the Relion meter from WalMart….they're cheap and you can get strips in the middle of the night if you need to.

There are two....the Prime and the Premier. They both take the same sample size so it really doesn't matter which one you get. Just make sure you get the correct replacement strips for the meter you get.

I always used the ear and it's the most popular place ….some of us worry about using the paw considering the litterbox. The paw can be a little harder for some people because it's a tougher patch of skin to "poke".

I used the freestyle freedom lite meter. And mainly order my strips off eBay.

I've never tested on the paw and have always used the ear as I've always found it easier to test ear when on my own.

That was exactly what put me off using the paw too.

I use the pet meter Alphatrak 2. It's the same one my vet uses. The alpha strips are expensive but I also use freestyle insulinx strips with it with no trouble.

95% of us use the ear to test. I have a video in my signature showing how I test my cat CC at home.
