Testing on cat's paw pad

I read a lot about people testing on the cat's ear, but just want to share that I test on the pad of Romeo's hind foot. I did this in front of my vet, and even though she runs an all cat clinic, she'd never seen this before. Using each of our meters independently, we tested the blood from his vein, then tested the blood from his foot, and came out with all of the same readings.

I use the biggest pad on his foot, and begin with squeezing his foot, just below the pad, like you would do before you prick your finger. Then I press the lancet device firmly against the pad and prick.

I can't promise this will work on every cat. Romeo had a saddle thrombus eight years ago, so he's easy to cradle.
